What Gives?

To my dismay I found out yesterday that my most favorite place to visit has sadly closed down. Why you ask? I am not totally sure myself. As I was browsing through anthropologie's website I stumbled across my most favorite cards of all time. These beautiful block printed cards take me back to the days of my childhood. I was so excited to see that these cards were making their way out into the world. I had to call someone, someone who would appreciate the fact that these cards have found another outlet to be sold. So I called Erika, my dear mother who is the one that introduced me to these treasured cards. I was ecstatic to tell her that Gwen Frostic cards are being sold at Anrthropologie, but for of course 4 times the price. Before I could finish even telling her the wonderful news she throw something back at me that ruined my day. These were her word" Oh, I forgot to tell you that Gwen Frostic closed, we just found out this week" WHAT! I couldn't believe my ears. I Love that place. Apparently the bank had to take the place over because of financial reasons. ( I obviously don't know the whole story)
This quaint little place is magical in northern Michigan. Erika also informed me Chris's favorite place to get Schnitzel and my favorite puff pastries also closed due the same reason/same owner. How can our favorite places that we go to for our get aways Close??? This is just awful!

these are the Gwen Frostic cards Antropologie is selling

Look at these beauties. I love them, Cherish them, am selfish with but like to give them away. When I go to the store I never know which ones to pick as if I am a kid in a candy store. These babies are Eye Candy for me;) It truly saddens me to know I will never be able to buy these cards again at the absolutely coolest place in Michigan.

Happy Birthday little man

I can't believe one year ago today this little peanut was born. Delivered at 10:20p.m., coming into the world at a whapping 6lb 1oz.

Now look at him, not such a peanut anymore. I must say he looks pretty dapper in his coat and tie.

Happy Birthday Josiah Christopher... Your mommy loves you very much

Fire sky

This morning I woke up just before 7a.m. and the sky looked like it was on fire... it was beautiful. In a moment like that, God is giving us a small visual glimpse on his glory. I really should have taken a picture before the grey sky took over:(

Side note: Josiah is farting really LOUD right now. Have I mentioned I love that boy? I think it is so funny when he farts because he usually claps after as if he is so proud of his accomplishments.

It was another busy weekend. Friday started with an adorable one year photo shoot.. will post pictures later. Saturday I went with my sister-in-law to blow a glass pumpkin. Apparently I was over dressed and it was really hot in the room (go figure). I didn't know what to expect, but I know one thing we all used the same stick to blow from:/ I am excited to pick the little guy up tomorrow, I didn't get a good look at him since he was still so hot. Sunday was of course church and dinner at the in-laws. It was a beautiful day yesterday, sunny and 70. Everyone was racking leaves and the neighbor kids played football. The only yard that didn't get racked was ours...

Today should be eventful. Therapy, cleaning and maybe a little drive out to the apple orchard for some apple cider. This is a big week in the Rohman household, Josiah turns 1 on Wednesday. I can't believe it!

Thankful Thursdays

Today I am thankful for :

The delicious meal I had at Panera for lunch:)

For my sweet precious little boy who worked so hard at therapy

That Chris still has shows to play in this slow economy

When Josiah snorts because he laughs so hard

For our gracious Lord and Savior who forgives us every day for our wrong doings

For a curious little boy who is currently trying to climb my leg to reach my computer... He is getting stronger

For friendly people

Phone calls from my sisters

When it is hard for Chris to leave me and Josiah (for work) but he does it with strength and integrity

HAVE A BLESSED DAY

It's November already

The air is colder, the nights are shorter and I heard a Christmas song on the radio today. I'm not going to lie, I was pretty excited to to hear jingle bells today. I worked on a little Christmas list and was asking others what was on theirs. I guess I feel like the Holidays always go by fast so once Halloween is over it's a fair game. Speaking of Halloween, Josiah and I were the only ones in my household who dressed up...One of these days Herbert will be a sport. An overview of the night: We ran out of candy around 7:30, I got hit on by a 9 year old, KISS showed up and our neighbor went crazy with the decor once again.

Today I spent the morning with my oldest friend. She literally is my oldest friend, she is 89. Her name is Maureen. She was our neighbor when we lived in our apartment. Maureen lives alone in her upstairs apartment, she drives her friends to church, adores Josiah and has a busier schedule than me.

Tonight Chris and I had a lovely evening with our good friends Jason and Val. Oh how I love Byblos.

Did everyone vote today? I saw the "new" mayor of Toledo at breakfast this morning. Should have shook the man's hand.
